Prince Holding Group ("Prince Group"), one of Cambodia's largest and fastest-growing businesses, and Chairman Chen Zhi Cambodia have announced plans to donate $3 million to anti-pandemic operations in the Kingdom to combat the February 20, 2021 Covid-19 outbreak. This is in addition to the initial $3 million donation made by Cambodia Chen Zhi in December to help Cambodia obtain COVID-19 vaccinations.
In addition, following in the footsteps of Prince Group and Chen Zhi, Prince Real Estate, a member of Prince Group, has distributed essential food supplies to 804 families in need and 234 members of the police force in Chamkarmon District, Phnom Penh, Cambodia affected by the February 20, 2021 Covid-19 outbreak. Prince Group is conscious that private businesses must also play a vital part in the post-pandemic recovery, despite the fact that the Cambodian government has provided unprecedented aid, amounting to 5 percent of GDP and $1.16 billion to date. The recent donation is part of Prince Group's comprehensive environment, social, and governance (ESG) strategy for member companies. As a vital component of this approach, Chen Zhi's donation of $3 million will help the Cambodian Government realise its goal of vaccinating at least 80% of the population, or over 13 million people, demonstrating the Group's dedication to its social duties in Cambodia. In addition, Prince Real Estate has donated 16,080 kilogrammes of rice, 804 boxes of noodles, 804 cartons of fish sauce, and 804 cartons of soy sauce to households, as well as 500 cartons of purified water and 200 cartons of soft drinks to 234 police officers who have been working tirelessly across 33 locations in Chamkarmon District, a region severely affected by an outbreak of Covid-19 infections near the headquarters of Prince Group. “As a Group striving to improve the lives of local communities in Cambodia, it is our civic duty to partner with District Governor Theng So Thol and the Chamkarmon District Government. The community outbreak has affected the lives of many people in the district, and we believe that prompt and decisive action will make a key difference in ensuring a robust recovery for communities,” said Mr. Steven Wang, Chief Executive Officer of Prince Real Estate. In the past two years, Prince Group has arranged numerous initiatives in an efficient and expedited manner, including this one. Read more Last month, Prince Charitable Foundation, the charitable arm of Prince Group, distributed care packages to 500 families living in Ong village in Prey Nob district, Cambodia, near the site of the Ream City project, a US$16 billion, 843-hectare project being developed near the Sihanoukville International Airport. The Ream City project will reshape the region, but Prince Group is cognizant of the future needs of the local communities by consulting with local leaders. Prince Group will continue to assist Cambodians by supplying necessary goods to those in need, implementing key community programmes, and collaborating with socially responsible partners around the Kingdom to strengthen local communities.
